A far-flung duo who come from a long line of storytellers, aren’t afraid to tell it like it is. Montana Hobbs and Linda Jean Stokley carefully craft vignettes of agrarian life that soar above the deep-holler sound they have cultivated. They uncover themes unique to Central Appalachia but are more than simply purveyors of the rural tradition. They are creators with lush melodies and nimble harmonies but speak to a new generation, folks that understand the beauty and struggle and complexity of contemporary Appalachia life.  Perhaps the late Tom T. Hall said it best: “…they are a great credit to a wonderful Kentucky tradition.”
